We make rope the slow way,
because skin can tell.
FUSION began with a simple frustration: good ties deserve good rope. Too much jute sold online arrives dry, hairy and harsh — technically rope, and nothing more.
The process
Twist & set. We start with a tight three-strand lay and heat-set it, so the rope keeps its shape and resists kinking for its whole life.
Singe, twice. One pass of flame removes the worst of the fuzz; the second pass, after a rest, is what makes the surface quiet and smooth. Then we buff each hank by hand — you'll feel the difference before you see it.
Oil. A small amount of jojoba worked in with a cloth. Enough to make the rope supple from day one; not enough to make it slick or greasy.
Rest & coil. Every hank rests a full day, is coiled by hand and closed with a linen twine tie. From spool to shipping in about five days.
What we promise
Ready to tie. No pre-breaking homework. If a rope needs a week of conditioning before it's usable, that's our job, not yours.
Honest materials. Jute, dye, jojoba. Nothing else. Full ingredient lists on every product page.
Discreet, always. Plain courier bag, sender "A. Studio". We don't put our own name on the outside of the box — we extend the same courtesy to you.
Small batch, honestly made. We dye in small lots and sell out sometimes. We'd rather sell out than rush a hank.
Rope is a conversation.
We make tools for a practice built on trust and communication. Our guide covers negotiation, safety checks and aftercare — because good rope deserves good practice.
